Apache James maildir Implementation
The Apache James maildir implementation is an effort to enable the Apache James email server to store its messages in the maildir format. While the current development version of James supports a variety of back-ends for storing messages, it is lacking this standard message store. Supporting maildir facilitates migration from other mail servers, integration into existing systems, and encourages using James with a message store familiar to many administrators.
This project is kindly funded by Google in the context of the Summer of Code 2010. I put down a few notes about the background and motivation for this project.
